Learning ActivitiesActivity 1: Career of the Future Research ProjectObjective: Inspire students to imagine and investigate future professions.
Instructions:
  • In groups or individually, students select or invent a job that may exist 10–20 years from now.
  • Research the following:
    • What problems does this job solve?
    • What skills or values does it require?
    • How is it different from current careers?
  • Create a presentation (slide deck, short video, poster, or written report).
  • Optional: Use an AI tool like Canva Magic Write or ChatGPT to draft descriptions or titles.
Debrief:
Share projects and discuss patterns in emerging needs, values, and skills.

Activity 2: Adaptability and Purpose Goal SettingObjective: Connect students’ goals with lifelong learning and values.
Instructions:
  • Use the WEF skill list to identify a personal “growth edge” (e.g., resilience, creativity, collaboration).
  • Write a Future-Ready Goal Statement, e.g.:
“I will strengthen my [skill] by [action] so I can adapt to [future context].”
  • Encourage reflection:
    • How will this help in a changing work environment?
    • What role do ethics or social values play?
Optional Extension:
Have students revisit and refine their goals throughout the course.

Activity 3: Ethical Workplace ScenariosObjective: Promote ethical reasoning in professional situations.
Instructions:
  • Present short scenarios (e.g., AI tracking worker productivity, biases in hiring algorithms).
  • Discuss:
    • What would you do?
    • What values are at stake?
    • How might different stakeholders view the issue?
  • Use a 4-corner or Think-Pair-Share discussion method.
Optional Tools:
Introduce ChatGPT to generate additional dilemmas or perspectives to analyze.

Formative Assessment and ReflectionExit Ticket Prompts (Choose One):
  • What is one future career that excites or worries you—and why?
  • How can adaptability and purpose guide students through uncertainty?
  • What did today’s discussion reveal about ethics in future workplaces?
Quiz Sample Questions:
  • Name one “future-ready” skill and describe why it’s important.
  • Explain how interdisciplinary learning prepares students for evolving careers.
  • Provide an example of an ethical challenge that may arise in an AI-influenced job.

Optional Homework or Extension ActivityAssignment:
Interview a professional about how their job is changing (or might change) due to technology. Ask:
  • How are you adapting?
  • What new skills have become important?
  • What advice do you have for students?
Follow-Up:
Share findings in small groups or create a class infographic: “Adapting to the Future of Work.”
The following activities include AI tools that enhance student engagement, provide data-driven insights, and facilitate personalized learning.

The following activities include AI tools that enhance student engagement, provide data-driven insights, and facilitate personalized learning.
1. Group Activity: “Career of the Future” AI Prototype Project
AI Tools: ChatGPT, Canva Magic Design, Curipod
Objective: Use AI to conceptualize and present a speculative future career.
Instructions:
  • In groups of 3–5, students will:
    • Prompt ChatGPT to help brainstorm a list of possible future careers (e.g., “What jobs might exist in 2040 related to sustainability or AI ethics?”).
    • Select one concept and use ChatGPT to draft a job description, including duties, skills needed, and educational pathways.
    • Use Canva Magic Design to create a digital brochure or slide deck advertising the job.
    • Create an interactive class poll or quiz using Curipod to test peers’ understanding of their new career.
Product: Digital pitch presentation + AI-generated job brochure + interactive quiz.

2. Group Activity: Future-Ready Skills Simulation
AI Tools: Eduaide.ai, ChatGPT, Google Forms with AI analysis (via Sheets add-on)
Objective: Analyze and categorize future-ready skills using real-world examples.
Instructions:
  • Assign each group a different future skill (e.g., resilience, collaboration, design thinking).
  • Use Eduaide.ai or ChatGPT to find or create:
    • 2 example jobs that rely heavily on that skill
    • 1 fictional workplace scenario that puts that skill to the test
  • Groups present:
    • The skill definition and its importance
    • The two jobs and scenario they generated
  • Create a peer-assessment Google Form that uses conditional logic (with AI support if available via add-ons) for students to evaluate each group’s skill use.
Product: Slide deck + scenario role-play + peer-assessment form.

AI-Integrated Individual Activities
1. Individual Activity: AI Goal Builder
AI Tool: ChatGPT or Notion AI
Objective: Write and revise a personal goal for future-readiness using AI support.
Instructions:
  • Use a structured ChatGPT prompt:
“Help me write a goal statement focused on building [insert skill] so I can adapt to future changes in [insert interest area].”
  • Refine the draft with follow-up prompts:
    • “Make it more specific.”
    • “Add an example of how I will take action.”
  • Reflect in writing:
    • What did the AI suggest that surprised you?
    • Did AI help you clarify your thinking?
Product: One paragraph future-ready goal + reflection notes.

2. Individual Activity: Ethics in the Workplace—AI Roleplay

AI Tool: ChatGPT (Custom GPT or pre-set role prompts)
Objective: Use AI to simulate ethical dilemmas in future workplaces.
Instructions:
  • Students will interact with ChatGPT using prompts like:
    • “Pretend you're a manager of a company using AI hiring software. I'm an employee with concerns. Let's roleplay the conversation.”
    • “Simulate a workplace debate about whether AI tracking of employee behavior should be mandatory.”
  • Take notes or record the dialogue.
  • Afterward, write:
    • What perspectives did the AI offer?
    • How would you respond as a future worker or leader?
Product: Transcript or notes + short position statement.
