Unit Duration: 2–3 weeks
Week 1: Foundations of Political Ideologies and Citizen Participation
Day 1-2: Political Ideologies and Their Influence on Governance
Topics:
  • Major political ideologies (liberalism, conservatism, socialism, communism, fascism)
  • How ideologies shape policy and governance in case study countries
  • Differences in ideological expression in democracies vs. authoritarian states
Activities:
  • Case study comparison of ideology-driven policies in the UK, China, and Iran
