The following activities include AI tools that enhance student engagement, provide data-driven insights, and facilitate personalized learning.

Individual Activity – AI Text Annotation
  • Tool: ChatGPT or Claude (text-based language models)
  • Task: Students input a translated excerpt from the Guru Granth Sahib and ask the AI to help them identify key themes (e.g., unity, equality, devotion).
  • Prompt Example: “Explain the meaning of this passage from the Guru Granth Sahib and identify Sikh beliefs it reflects.”
Group Activity – Compare Religious Teachings
  • Tool: Google Bard or ChatGPT
  • Task: Groups enter teachings from Sikhism and another previously studied religion (e.g., Christianity or Islam), then ask the AI to generate a comparison chart of key values and practices.
  • Goal: Understand the unique and shared values across religious traditions.

Day 3: Taoism
Individual Activity – Nature Poem Generator
  • Tool: ChatGPT (Creative writing mode)
  • Task: Students describe a natural scene (e.g., waterfall, wind, forest) and ask the AI to create a short Taoist-style poem inspired by Tao Te Ching.
  • Prompt Example: “Write a Taoist poem about a mountain using metaphors from the Tao Te Ching.”
Group Activity – Dao in Modern Life Simulation
  • Tool: ChatGPT or Character.ai
  • Task: Each group gives the AI a real-world scenario (e.g., social media addiction, climate change) and asks how a Taoist philosopher like Laozi would respond.
  • Goal: Apply ancient Taoist principles to modern-day issues.

Day 4: Confucianism
Individual Activity – AI Ethics Assistant
  • Tool: ChatGPT or Perplexity AI
  • Task: Students describe a dilemma involving respect for elders or societal roles, then ask the AI to evaluate the situation using Confucian concepts like li (ritual) or xiao (filial piety).
  • Prompt Example: “A student wants to challenge a teacher’s rule they think is unfair. What would Confucius advise?”
Group Activity – Create a Confucian Code of Conduct
  • Tool: Canva Magic Write or ChatGPT
  • Task: Groups create a “school code of ethics” inspired by Confucian teachings. They use the AI to refine their values into clear, respectful rules that reflect hierarchy, respect, and social harmony.

Day 5: Indigenous Religions
Individual Activity – AI Myth Reimagining
  • Tool: ChatGPT (narrative mode)
  • Task: After reading a short Indigenous creation story, students ask the AI to help them write a modern adaptation that preserves its animist and nature-revering themes.
  • Prompt Example: “Retell this Ojibwe story about the Great Turtle in a modern urban setting.”
Group Activity – Build a Nature-Centered Culture
  • Tool: ChatGPT and DALL·E or Craiyon (AI image generation tools)
  • Task: Groups design an imaginary society based on animist beliefs. They ask ChatGPT to help write about rituals and beliefs, and use an image tool to generate sacred spaces or symbols.
  • Goal: Understand how reverence for nature shapes community life and symbolism.

Day 6: Interactive Map Activity – Comparative Geography of Religion

Individual Activity – Religion Locator Tool
  • Tool: Google Earth or MapHub + ChatGPT
  • Task: Students use a world map tool to mark where Sikhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and selected Indigenous religions are practiced. Then, they ask ChatGPT to summarize how each religion adapted to its environment.
  • Prompt Example: “How did Taoism reflect the mountains and rivers of ancient China?”
Group Activity – Interactive Religious Influence Map
  • Tool: Canva, Google My Maps, or Genially + ChatGPT
  • Task: Groups create a digital interactive map showing each religion’s region of origin, sacred texts, modern populations, and cultural impacts. They use ChatGPT to generate short blurbs or summaries to annotate the map.
