Group AI Activity:
AI Dialogue Creator (ChatGPT or Google Bard)

• Task: In small groups, students input prompts such as “Write a conversation between two classmates meeting for the first time” into ChatGPT or Bard.
• Goal: Use the AI-generated dialogue to role-play, revise for clarity, and identify formal/informal expressions.
• Focus: SL.6.6 – Adapting speech for different contexts.

Individual AI Activity:
Speech Practice with ELSA Speak or TalkPal AI

• Task: Students use ELSA Speak or TalkPal to practice pronouncing basic greetings and questions.
• Goal: Receive AI feedback on pronunciation and fluency.
• Focus: L.6.1 – Grammar and usage in spoken English.

WEEK 2: Understanding and Using Schedules
Group AI Activity:
Google Sheets with Bard Integration or AI Scheduling Assistant (e.g., Notion AI)

• Task: Create and analyze a class schedule using Google Sheets. Ask Bard to suggest a “healthy and balanced daily routine” based on given time slots.
• Goal: Compare, revise, and present AI-suggested schedules in groups.
• Focus: W.6.4 – Writing for specific tasks.

Individual AI Activity:
Quizlet AI or ChatGPT-based Grammar Quiz Generator

• Task: Students enter verbs related to daily activities (e.g., wake, eat, study), and Quizlet AI generates personalized flashcards and practice quizzes.
• Goal: Reinforce present simple verb usage.
• Focus: L.6.1 – Verb tense accuracy.

WEEK 3: Reading and Using Menus
Group AI Activity:
Canva Magic Write or ChatGPT Menu Creator

• Task: In groups, students use Canva’s Magic Write or ChatGPT to create a restaurant menu based on a chosen cuisine.
• Goal: Practice food vocabulary, articles, and polite restaurant language.

YouGlish or YouTube Transcript Summarizer (via ChatGPT plug-in)

• Task: Watch a short restaurant conversation clip. Use an AI summarizer to extract key phrases and replay for pronunciation practice.
• Goal: Improve comprehension and fluency in a restaurant setting.
• Focus: SL.6.6 – Adapting speech and listening for context.

WEEK 4: Filling Out Forms
Group AI Activity:
Form Analysis with Claude.ai or Copilot in Word

• Task: Upload or recreate a sample library/job form and have Claude or Copilot analyze the required information.
• Goal: Discuss what each section means, and complete the form collaboratively.
• Focus: L.6.1 – Capitalization, punctuation, formatting.

Individual AI Activity:
Grammarly or Write & Improve by Cambridge

• Task: Students fill out an application form (written or digital) and run it through Grammarly or Write & Improve.
• Goal: Correct common grammar or formatting issues.
• Focus: W.6.4 – Producing clear writing for specific tasks.

WEEK 5: Giving and Following Directions
Group AI Activity:
AI-Generated Maps with ChatGPT and Bing AI Image Creator

• Task: Generate a simple town map using AI prompts. Use the map to practice giving and receiving directions.
• Goal: Use prepositions of place and direction verbs in context.
• Focus: SL.6.6 – Speaking adapted to setting.

Individual AI Activity:
Voice Assistant Practice (Google Assistant or Siri with AI Dictation)

• Task: Students verbally ask AI assistants for directions (e.g., “How do I get to the library?”). Repeat and respond to different AI answers.
• Goal: Improve functional oral communication skills.

WEEK 6: Real-World Role Play Review
