Grammar Unit 1

Unit Title: Parts of Speech
Unit Overview: This unit introduces and reinforces the eight parts of speech—nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections—through interactive lessons, writing activities, and assessments. The goal is to strengthen students’ grammar skills and improve their writing and communication.

Lesson 1: Introduction to Parts of Speech
  • Objective: Define and provide examples of the eight parts of speech.
  • Activities:
    • Warm-up: Sentence sorting activity—students categorize words by parts of speech.
    • Direct instruction: Overview of the eight parts of speech with examples.
    • Group activity: Each group is assigned a part of speech to teach the class through a short skit, poster, or presentation.
