Unit Overview: This unit introduces students to key concepts in physical and human geography. Students will explore geographic tools, landforms, climate zones, human-environment interaction, population patterns, and economic and cultural geography. The unit emphasizes skill-building in map reading, analysis, and geographic reasoning.

Unit Objectives:

Week 1: Introduction to Geographic Tools
  • Topics: Maps, globes, GPS, GIS
  • Activities:

  • Objective: Students will use AI-based tools (like Google Earth, ArcGIS StoryMaps, or AI-powered map generators) to explore real-world locations and compare geographic representations.
  • AI Integration:
    • Have students input a location into an AI mapping tool to compare satellite imagery, street maps, and topographic maps.
    • Use ChatGPT to analyze how different maps represent the same place differently.
