Unit 14

Objective: Students will analyze contemporary feminist issues, global solidarity in women’s rights, and future feminist activism through readings, discussions, research, and projects.

Week 1: Contemporary Challenges

Unit Wrap-Up & Legacy Project

To conclude, students will contribute to a Legacy Project—a collaborative digital or physical exhibit showcasing their research, advocacy, and reflections on feminism’s future. This can include essays, artwork, video projects, or policy proposals.
This unit ensures critical thinking, real-world connections, and active engagement, preparing students to understand and shape the future of women’s rights.

Group Activity: AI-Powered Data Analysis of Gender Equality
AI Tool: Python Data Analysis
  1. Each group will collect gender equality statistics (pay gaps, leadership roles, reproductive rights policies) from sources such as Pew Research and the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
  2. Students will use AI-powered data analysis tools to process and visualize these statistics.
  3. Groups will interpret trends and inequalities, then present findings with policy recommendations.
AI Task: Use Python to analyze and create charts displaying gender disparity trends over time.

Individual Activity: AI-Enhanced Policy Research
AI Tool: Web Search
  1. Each student will select a current policy affecting women’s rights in the U.S. (e.g., abortion laws, Equal Pay Act).
